What is Flex?
Flex is a thin, plastic coated material which has a fabric backing that gives it that extra strength to withstand many harsh conditions. A solvent machine is used to print flex. Frontlit Printing, is when the flex is illuminated by the sun itself. So it does not require any artificial lighteners like bulbs or LEDs to light it up. It is thinner, (about 340 GSM) and looks like a white opaque sheet. It can give a matte as well as a glossy effect.
Backlit Printing is when artificial illumination is used to lighten the flex up. It has to be more in breadth because small tube-lights are used to light it up from the behind. Backlit flex is also called glow sign boards (GSBs).
For backlit flex, the right combination of colours has to be used so that the best quality print is visible.
